The complaint should be related to matters of public safety.

Procedures

  1. The official authorities shall send the complaint letter to the Department of Prevention and Self-Protection or any of its divisions in the external directorates. In case the complaints are from the applicants, the applicant is required to fill out the form or the complaint can be received by phone.
  2. All letters from the official authorities or complaints filled in the complaint form shall be transferred to the Public Service Desk, which in turn will set a date for inspection in case the complaint is within our competence (exits, fire alarm and extinguishing systems, etc.).
  3. The concerned inspection officer shall carry out the inspection and write the inspection report specifying the inspection results; then he transfers the report to the Director of the Department of Prevention or to the Head of Prevention Division in the governorate for review.
  4. If there are recommendations to the establishment and the owner of the establishment does not comply with the implementation thereof after having been addressed previously, the Greater Amman Municipality or the Municipality to which the establishment belongs shall be addressed. If the owner of the establishment continues not to comply with implementation of the recommendations, the Governor shall be addressed and Civil Defense representative in the governorate, if present, shall follow up the procedures with the concerned authorities to oblige the owner of the establishment to implement the recommendations contained in the Civil Defense letter.
  5. The complainant shall be informed of the action taken and provided with copies of the official letter and the inspection report.
  6. In the event that the complaint is not within our jurisdiction and that it's within the jurisdiction of other official bodies such as (water leakage, cracks, etc.), this complaint shall be referred to the Damaged Buildings committee in the Ministry of Public Works or the Public Safety Committee in the governorate through the Civil Defense representative in the governorate This representative shall coordinate and follow up the procedures and inform us of the results.
